Professor Kerrie Wilson – Queensland Chief Scientist

Professor Kerrie Wilson commenced her role as Queensland Chief Scientist on 1 November 2023. She is responsible for supporting the generation and translation of globally significant science to ensure sustainable economic growth in Queensland.

With a distinguished career in academia and conservation, Professor Wilson has held prominent positions at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), including Pro ViceChancellor (Sustainability and Research Integrity) and Executive Director of the QUT Institute for Future Environments. Her previous leadership roles include Director of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Environmental Decisions, Director of Conservation for The Nature Conservancy Australia, and she currently serves as a natural sciences expert on the Australian Heritage Council.

Professor Wilson holds a Bachelor of Environmental Science (First Class Honours) from The University of Queensland and a PhD from The University of Melbourne, completed in collaboration with the UN Environment Programme’s World Conservation Monitoring Centre in Cambridge, UK.

Outside of her professional commitments, Professor Wilson is an avid outdoor enthusiast, regularly exploring Queensland’s national parks with her family.

Professor Daniella Tilbury – Virtual Speaker

Prof. Daniella Tilbury is an academic leader, policy adviser, and recognised change-maker credited with pioneering frameworks for sustainability in higher education. She currently advises the European Commission on education matters related to sustainability, future generations and the digital transition and has authored influential policy guidelines on AI as well as higher education leadership.

She brings first hand experience of creating climate-positive futures as a Vice-Chancellor, Dean, Research Professor, Director and Senate member at universities in the UK, Australia, Hong Kong, Gibraltar and Spain. In parallel, she is actively engaged at the highest levels of international policy-making: she has led ministerial dialogues at UNFCCC, convened the COP26 Presidential event, chaired the UK COP26 Presidency’s Education Day, and by invitation of the Secretary General, facilitated UN High-Level Political Forum sessions.

She co-designed and delivers the UNESCO leadership programme for Vice-Chancellors and SHIFT Programme for sustainability teams across Irish Universities. Daniella serves as UK focal point at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and is an Hon Fellow of St Catharine’s College, University of Cambridge. She was a member of the Board of WWF Australia that brought Earth Hour to the world in 2007, now one of the world’s largest public movements for climate action.

Belinda Lyone – Co-CEO, COS

As the Co-CEO of COS, Belinda Lyone is known for her forward-thinking leadership and strategic vision, driving growth and innovation that position COS as an industry leader in service and sustainability. With a deep passion for products, she leverages her extensive experience to navigate the evolving ways in which customers work.

As a second-generation leader of the family-owned Australian business, Belinda leads COS alongside her sister and Co-CEO, Amie Lyone. Today, COS is proudly majority women-owned, reflecting the evolution of the family business and the leadership at its heart.

Under her leadership, COS is committed to delivering exceptional value to its customers while prioritising environmental sustainability. Her strategic vision focuses on expanding COS’s product offering, enhancing customer engagement, and fostering a culture of innovation and service excellence within the organisation.

With more than 20 years at COS, Belinda’s hands-on customer first approach continues to be a cornerstone of COS’s success, as she works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. This includes enhancing product innovation, strengthening customer relationships, and creating lasting value for COS and their customers. 

Lin Stevenson – Associate Director, RMIT University & ACTS President

Lin Stevenson is Associate Director, Sustainability at RMIT University and Deputy Chair of the RMIT Sustainability Committee. She leads a team which provides strategic advice to the executive and the wider community on sustainable management of assets and operations. Based within Property Services, responsibilities include strategy development, project coordination, infrastructure planning, reporting, partnerships and communication to enhance the University’s profile as a sustainable organisation. In her role on the Sustainability Committee, she also oversees governance issues, such as policy development, responsible investment, modern slavery and Corporate Social Responsibility. Lin also sits on the ACTS Board of Directors and is the current ACTS President.

Melody Liang – Senior Consultant, Russell Investment

Melody Liang is a Senior Consultant in Russell Investment’s Implemented Consulting team. With a specialty in sustainable investing, Melody works with a range of investors such as superannuation, universities and for-purpose sectors. She provides comprehensive investment advice and tailored solutions across the investment management cycle, helping clients achieve their investment objectives. Melody also sits on Russell Investments Global GTM Responsible Investing Council.

Melody is a CFA Charter Holder and actively volunteers within the CFA Society Australia, sits on the Diversity Committee of the NSW Chapter. She also serves as the Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee for Multicultural Care Ltd.
